MAJOR POINTS​:

​

• portage section of about 400 m D +

• unique emotions and panoramas climb on a path / mule track that can be pedaled at 85%, with a long stretch at an altitude of over 2000 m

• Close encounters with the typical wildlife of the Gran Paradiso National Park (ibex, chamois, eagles, bearded vultures, marmots, etc)

• mixed descent on single track and mule track unique emotions and panoramas

• self-tour

 

We will provide you with maps, detailed itineraries and GPS tracks, booking accommodation and transfers for you and giving you the best advice for your e-bike and mountain bike experience in Gran Paradiso.

Then a climb on a path / mule track that can be pedaled at 85% which leads to an altitude of over 3000 m; considering the considerable altitude it is an itinerary to be carried out in summer or at the beginning of autumn, with stable days from the weather point of view, also to fully enjoy the panorama.

​

Excursion in full PNGP. It goes without saying that respect for flora and fauna, hikers and trails is a must and binding. It is not possible to leave the paths.

PROGRAMME:

​

From Pianchette follow the signs for Balmarossa, until you reach the Varda village.

From here, take path 552 to the Gran Piano and shoulder the bike for about 400m D + until you meet the royal mule track that comes from the Sassa village.

 

Continue in the saddle to the Casa del Caccia del Gran Piano, where an exciting panorama opens up.

Cross the whole floor keeping the left and take the high Via Canavesana, first downhill (almost all cycle) and then going up towards the Roc valley.

Continue on a traverse with gentle ups and downs that can be pedaled 100%, with a fantastic view of that rock cathedral which is the Roc valley.

 

Once on the Alpe di Foges, take the path n. 542 to the Sià hill, first with some stretches of technical descent, then the track goes up and you almost always ride it in the saddle if not for some landslides.

When you finally reach the hill, the descent begins: a path with hairpin bends with a loose rocky surface but with beautiful and long sections on fixed stones and steps.

More flat stretches follow up to a larch forest, where the slopes increase and the descent becomes technical again.

We continue leaving the GTA path towards Pianchette and after a couple of very short ascents the beauty begins: first technical section on fixed stones and steps; you then go into a beautiful beech forest on a nice regular background alternating with steps.

We then reach the last part characterized by very narrow hairpin bends on steps where a good trial technique is required.

After this last effort, you land directly inside the town of Pianchette and then to the car.

 

At the end of the day, a snack with a tasting of typical products at the “Osteria dei Viaggiatori” restaurant (Noasca - TO loc. Bettolino)
